Dear video capture gurus, I'm struggling to understand how to tackle what may be a simple problem (or not), but I really don't know what I'm doing. I need to take a video of a very minute surgical procedure, which is usually done under a dissection microscope. There is currently an old CCD camera hooked up to this dissection microscope, which can broadcast what one would see through the eyepieces to a TV. (Think the zoomed up surgical procedures on tvs you see on medical tv shows). What I need to do is take the output from the microscope/CCD camera and feed it into my laptop instead of the tv, so that I can capture the procedure into an avi or similar video format for video editing. This is the CCD camera that is currently mounted over the microscope: a Hitachi KP-D50 I bought a serial to USB converter, but now I'm not sure what to do next. Is it possible to hook up the CCD camera to my laptop and then import video somehow through the USB connection? Please enlighten me so I can figure this out! Thanks so much! That one on Amazon seems to use composite connections to the usb connection. FULL Charge (4Hrs)Before Use It. Specifications: Video format: AVI Easy and fast to play: without installing the driver program. Photo resolution: JPG 1280 x 960. Apr 29, 2009 - Best Ccd S820 Driver. File is safe, uploaded from tested source and passed Kaspersky virus scan! Driver Info: File name: ccd_s820.exe. The camera doesn't seem to have that (all it has on the back, in person, regardless of what the manual says, is a power port, a port that plugs into an old-school TV, and the 9-pin serial). It looks to me like there's a BNC connector on the back labeled 'video'. A Female BNC connector looks like this: That should be composite video. You just need a BNC to RCA adapter: Then use a standard RCA video cable to the USB capture device: Using the s-video (Y/C) output on the D9 shell would be better. But you'll need the special cable. The 4 MP iKon-L camera has long been the mainstay detector for many observing projects, including SuperWasp and Next Generation Transit Survey exoplanet programs. • 16.8 Megapixel back-illuminated CCDs (e2v) • TE cooling to -100 °C - NO liquid nitrogen or cryo-cooling • Near Infra-Red optimization - dwarf star detection • 18-bit Extended Dynamic Range technology Key Application: Exoplanet detection (Transit and Radial Velocimetry), Wide Field Spectroscopic Survey, Photometry, Supernova detection. EMCCDs for Fast Time Resolution Featuring single photon sensitivity, TE cooling to -100 °C and > 95% QE, the iXon EMCCD range has been central to many demanding observing initiatives, such as the RAVEN ‘Multi-Object Adaptive Optics’ system at the Subaru Telescope (Hawaii), CHIMERA, the Caltech high speed multi-color camera for detecting transiting objects in the Kuiper Belt, and SOFIA (pictured). • Single photon sensitivity • Quantum efficiency > Doowonlod pilem kartun sub indo. 95% • Up to 1 Megapixel • 26 - 515 full frames per second Key Applications: Wavefront sensors, High time resolution astrophysics, Speckle/Lucky imaging and Transit surveys. SCMOS for Fast Time Resolution Including the new back-illuminated solution, scientific CMOS (sCMOS) technology is especially relevant for fast time resolution astronomy, combining high resolution / large field of view coverage of the sky with very fast time resolution, yet without sacrificing ultra-low noise performance. We are currently developing a next-generation, very large area sCMOS camera – enquire for further details!
